Conference Description:
The Government published its White Paper on electricity market reform on 12 July. The White Paper sets out key measures to attract investment, reduce the impact on consumer bills, and create a secure mix of electricity sources, including gas, new nuclear, renewables, and carbon capture and storage. The Masterclass will take attendees through the rationale for reform, the key elements of the reform package, and the next steps on the road to reform.
The event will offer an opportunity for participants to discuss with Jonathan Brearley, Director of Energy Strategy and Futures in the UK, Department of Energy and Climate Change, and each other the detailed reform package within the White Paper, and the further design work in train ahead of the introduction of a Bill to Parliament in the spring.
