Conference Description:

The International Society for the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) is delighted to invite you to attend the 6th International Congress on Developmental Origins of Health & Disease, to be held at the Sheraton Hotel Convention Centre in Santiago, Chile from Thursday November 19th to Sunday November 22nd. The central subject of the Congress is: From developmental biology to global health. We have the cooperation for this event from different important international organizations, such as the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP), the Consortium of Health Orientated Research in Transitional Societies (COHORTS), and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Congress now has CPD, Continuing Professional Development, approval from the Royal College of Physicians of London.
The Society for DOHaD is now becoming a world leader and central focus in addressing many of the major issues affecting human health and the 2009 Congress has been designed with a particular emphasis on global health issues.

Attendance will enable you to come into contact with an international society of professionals and the work that they have done, making this Congress a milestone in the development of human health. The programme has been designed to give you the opportunity to hear and to present work at the cutting edge of the science and technology of relevance to DOHaD, but also to address the issues of how to make a difference to the still widespread problems of maternal and child malnutrition. Latin America is a world leader in implementing public health measures to promote maternal and child nutrition, and much of the focus of this Congress will be placed on the data originating from Ibero-American studies, but also has a strong international representation, and the very best speakers in the field.

In addition, Santiago serves as a gateway to a variety of panoramas in which you can experience all the attractions of this long and beautiful country which lies between the foothills of the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. At the same time you can explore our rich and unique people, art and cuisine. This event is a must.

We look forward to welcoming to our delightful city, the cultural centre of Chile and hope that during your stay you take advantage of experiencing all the beauty that this country beholds.
