The strong cultural and historical links between Europe and Latin America play an important role in determining the nature of contemporary relations between the two regions, and between individual countries within the regions. The Indiana University Ottoman and Modern Turkish Studies Chair will host a multidisciplinary international conference entitled “The Turks and Islam” on September 11, 2010 in Bloomington, IN, USA.
